Saab Sonett II V4, year 1969.
Red with a black interior.
VIN: 01373. Imported from the USA and restored in the Netherlands.
The body is made of fiber-reinforced synthetic material (fiberglass and polyester) on a steel chassis.
It has a roll bar as fitted at the factory for safety and to improve the stiffness of the body.
The entire hood hinges forward to provide good access to the engine, gearbox, and suspension. This hood differs from that of the Sonett with the older 3-cylinder 2-stroke engine.
This Sonett II features the well-known and reliable Ford V4 engine with 1500 cc, delivering 65 hp.
The interior space is remarkably large, and the sports seats are very comfortable.
Access to the luggage compartment is via a small hatch in the vertical rear panel.
A total of 1,610 Sonett II V4s were built; this example is number 1,373.
