This Mercedes Benz was imported into the Netherlands in 2002 and has had only two owners over the past 24 years. The car is in very good and wonderfully original condition, having received one professional repaint in the past.
The current mileage is 153,050 km, fully documented through periodic inspection records. The R107 420 SL is an iconic model in the history of Mercedes Benz. Introduced in 1985, it is one of the most desirable versions of the R107 series, with only 2,148 examples produced. This limited production makes every 420 SL a valuable collector’s item.
Unlike the 450 SL, the 420 SL was built exclusively for the European market, featuring a kilometre speedometer, European headlamps, and European bumpers.
Under the bonnet lies the powerful 4.2 litre V8 engine, delivering approximately 218 bhp and 310 Nm of torque, providing effortless acceleration and a top speed of 205 km/h (127 mph).
The smooth ride and excellent road holding make the 420 SL a pleasure to drive, whether on long motorway journeys, on winding country roads or in urban surroundings. The manually operated convertible top adds to the charm of driving this elegant roadster.
