This fine Jaguar Mk II was delivered new in the USA. The car was imported into the Netherlands in 2006 and has been cherished by one caring owner since 2014. It was restored in the past, and the results remain impressive: the bodywork displays excellent panel fit and superb dark blue paintwork. The interior is beautifully upholstered, and the wood cappings were newly varnished during the restoration. The cabin exudes pure 1960s luxury, with soft leather, rich wooden trim, a classic wood veneer dashboard, and a wonderful wood rim Derrington steering wheel.
The dark blue exterior highlights the elegant lines that make the Mk II one of the most attractive British saloons ever built. Chrome wire wheels and brightwork further enhance its luxurious appearance. A tasteful detail is the fitment of sporty ‘Coombs spats’ over the rear wheels; the original full spats are also included. The 3.8 litre straight six was the top of the range engine, producing 220 bhp. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a smoothly shifting automatic gearbox. A highly desirable upgrade is the EZ electric power assisted steering system. Other sensible improvements include an electric cooling fan, an alternator, and electronic ignition.
This fine Jaguar Mk II comes with an extensive history and service file covering the past 15 years. The invoices clearly show that neither cost nor effort was spared in bringing the car to its current excellent condition and maintaining it to a high standard.
