Bentley R-Type, year 1953.
Chassis (VIN) number B-23LSP, engine number B-261-S.
Exterior colour pale green metallic (Pacific Green) combined with a beige (tan) full leather interior.
In February 1953 this magnificent Bentley R-Type was sold new in the USA where the automobile was cherished by four successive owners until 2017.
Then the car was exported to the Netherlands where it was enjoyed by one owner ever since.
This glorious Bentley R-type is in a very original and very good condition.
The car shows all the original details, and the bodywork was repainted in the original colour in the USA. The automobile was well kept and serviced beautifully; the car drives and handles like it should and the automatic gearbox shifts very well.
The 4.6 litre straight-six engine runs very smooth and supplies enough power to propel the R-type to an illegal speed swiftly.
The full leather interior is plush and luxurious and it breaths the atmosphere of an exclusive British gentleman’s club.
The Bentley R-type is the successor to the Mk 6. During development Bentley internally labelled the car as “Mark VII”, but once the production chassis series was finalised, the company adopted the designation “R type” based on the new RT prefix chassis numbering.
This R-type features the Standard Steel saloon bodywork which is in an excellent condition!
The riveted chassis is also in a perfect and rust-free condition.
This Bentley is fitted with special Pyrene bumpers and additional Lucas SLR700 spot lamps.
